“Nothing happens, Nothing happens, then everything happens”

It seems that way in HH4H land anyhow!

Last night was ALS night at Grand Valley Golf Course.  The ladies league was again very supportive and $485 was raised for Dr. Strong’s research.  What a wonderful night for golf, and for raising awareness about the disease.

Thank you to the Ladies League, to the volunteers who sold bracelets and golf counters, and to Grand Valley Golf  and Country Club.

Heather and Bob, at it again

Ron Furlong, Ken Furlong, Heather and Bob SnellThey just won’t stop working at raising awareness and funds for ALS research!

Ron Furlong of Ayr leaves June 14th to participate in a re-enactment of a famous transAmerican car race held in 1909.  He’ll be participating in a restored 1914  open top Model T.  On his journey he’ll have large decals carrying the ALS Hope logo on the side of the car.  He’ll also have donation cards for ALS Canada.  In fact, before he’s even started on the Journey he’s gotten a donation.

Ron said that he wants to promote ALS awareness as a tribute to Heather.  Ron said “Heather is just such a remakable woman…her enthusiasm is infectious and anything I can do to help her is well worth the effort”.

Thank you for your support in this battle Ron, and best of luck with the race.

Special thanks to the Ayr News for allowing us to use their image and for the background information.

Jones Feed Mills make a donation for ALS research

jonesfeed-millsThank you so much to Jones Feed Mills in Linwood.  They have generously donated the Corn Flower Seeds that we’ll be using at the Hootenanny this year.  Cornflower is the official logo of ALS Canada.  We have given them to children to plant in their own pots in other years.  I cannot wait to see how they are being used this summer.

Thanks Jeff and Julie Jones for your support of ALS research in Canada and HH4H.

Planning has begun for   HHH 2008 with a big meeting tonight.   Thanks to everyone who came in body and soul.

We raised over $35,000 last year to help find a cure.  Let’s try and match that this year!

We’ve booked the fair grounds so be sure to mark the date in your calendars and to tell your friends and family.  Even though we’re getting ‘off the farm’ we are going to keep our country feel with music and entertainment for kids and adults.  Keep checking back for more details, and let us know if you have any questions or comments!
